Steam Trap Monitoring System

A single failed steam trap can waste steam around the clock for months before anyone notices. Wireless sensors watch every trap continuously and tell you exactly which ones are leaking, blocked or cold, so you fix the right traps first.

Stop paying for steam you never use

Recover lost energy

Find leaking traps fast and cut the fuel your boilers burn to make steam that escapes into the condensate line.

Automate trap audits

Replace periodic manual surveys with continuous, plant-wide health data that's always up to date.

Faster, targeted repairs

Send technicians straight to the failed traps, ranked by priority, instead of checking every trap by hand.

Lower carbon footprint

Less wasted steam means less fuel burned and lower emissions from your boiler house.

What it detects

Every common trap failure, caught early

Each failure leaves its own temperature signature. The system learns each trap's normal pattern and flags it when that pattern changes.

Leaking / blow-through

Live steam passes straight into the condensate line, wasting energy and pressurising the return system.

Blocked / choked

Dirt or scale stops the trap from opening, so condensate backs up and heating performance drops.

Flooded

Condensate isn't removed fast enough, which can cause water hammer and damage pipes and equipment.

Cold / not in service

The trap or its line has gone cold. It may be isolated, or the line upstream has a problem.

Solution highlights

Designed for real steam networks

All common trap types

Works across thermodynamic, mechanical and thermostatic traps on mains, tracing and process lines.

Wireless, battery-powered

Clamp-on sensors install without cutting pipes, running cables or stopping steam.

Purpose-built for steam lines

A dedicated high-temperature sensor designed for the heat of steam pipework.

Smart failure detection

Temperature analytics tell leaking, blocked, flooded and cold traps apart, not just 'hot' or 'cold'.

Standalone or connected

Data reaches your SCADA or BMS over Modbus RS485, or goes through a gateway to cloud dashboards.

Prioritised repair list

Traps are ranked by status and estimated loss, so maintenance teams know what to fix first.

How it works

From trap to dashboard in four steps

1. Steam trap

A sensor is clamped onto the pipework at each trap you want to watch.

2. Wireless sensor

It measures the temperature profile continuously and transmits it wirelessly.

3. Receiver / gateway

The BBC969-485RC or an IoT gateway collects readings from every sensor in range.

4. Dashboard & alerts

Trap status, trends and alerts reach your SCADA, BMS or the cloud dashboard.
